3 Steps to Rebuild Trust After a Betrayal

In order to rebuild trust after a betrayal, the betrayed partner should first ask for full transparency. This means that their partner should agree to be completely open about their whereabouts, who they talk to, and what they do on their own time. It may seem extreme, but it demonstrates a commitment to mending the relationship.

Secondly, partners will need to make a commitment to honesty in every facet of their lives. Call for integrity! Therefore, follow through on all promises and demonstrate good moral judgement.

Lastly, work on acceptance. Acceptance doesn’t equal approval. It means you acknowledge mistakes were made and can’t be undone. As painful as it may be, accept that you were betrayed and choose to focus on repair.
